outsourcing IT infrastructure

We live in a world where technology is not a luxury but a necessity. Companies are putting effort into perfecting their IT infrastructure to make sure that their business will sail smoothly.

However, it is not that easy to maintain an IT team that will manage everything, more especially if your budget is limited. It is also hard to have a flexible IT team that will be by your side whenever there is a problem in the office. Thus, for a start-up that wants to have a name in the industry or for companies that wants steady income, it should be one of their priorities, their IT infrastructure.

Percentage of companies outsourcing IT infrastructure

Outsourcing IT infrastructure is actually in its highest percentage last year. Experts are saying that it will continue to rise because of the demand. The budgets companies spend into IT services are also increasing every year. According to ‘IT Outsourcing Statistics 2017/2018’, a study from Computer Economics, from 10.6 percent in 2016, the budget spent increased to 11.9 percent in 2017.

Companies are also outsourcing IT services to focus on more complicated things that their in-house team can’t do. Moreover, a research titled ‘IT Outsourcing Sector: Worldwide Forecast until 2019’, stated that offshore outsourcing of Information Technology (IT) will have a compound yearly growth rate of almost six percent up to 2019.

Advantages of outsourcing IT infrastructure for small and medium enterprises

Cost cutting – It is not a secret that outsourcing any type of service will let you save money. It is much cheaper to outsource your IT infrastructure than build an in-house IT team for your business. You need not to buy computers and set everything up just to keep the team going. IT Outsourcing Statistics reported that large companies are increasing their budgets for outsourcing IT services. It is the same with small organizations, they are also spending more. From 4.7 percent it has increased to 6.5 percent. So it is smart to do the same.

Focus on core business – like mentioned above, companies are also outsourcing IT infrastructure to focus on a more extensive and much harder job for the in-house team. For a company that is not really related to IT or does not offer IT services, it will be hard to maintain an IT team. It is much better to just outsource the IT service rather than hire your own employees.

Increase flexibility while decreasing risks and errors – while your in-house team focuses on their tasks, having outsourced IT team will benefit you more because you will have flexibility with little to no errors and risk. According to a report, there are more than 300 million pieces of malware every year. This means that your business, the computers you use is very vulnerable to it. It is safe to have an IT team that will set up protection and anti-virus system to your office so that all of your data will be stored safely.
